There will be no school today due to snow and high winds. I am concerned about the safety of students getting to and from school. Stay safe, Savoonga.

Your input through a quick survey of our Building Administrators (Principals) at BSSD is crucial as we constantly work towards improvements.  Your feedback on their leadership is immensely valuable to us. Ensuring that we're serving everyone to the best of our abilities is our priority.  📢  If you're a staff member, we kindly request you to complete one survey from your staff perspective and another from your viewpoint as a parent/community member.  📢 Parents, your insights are highly appreciated! Please take a few moments to share your thoughts through a separate survey focusing on your parental perspective.  📢 Students, your voice matters! You'll have the opportunity to express your opinions by participating in the survey at school. If you need assistance accessing the survey, don't hesitate to contact a school administrator at your site. Your perspectives play a significant role in our plans for improvement. Thank you for taking the time to provide your valuable insights! THIS IS ANONYMOUS https://forms.gle/Bd1HMejYvryRCMks8

letter from Tammy Dodd BSSD Superintendent in regards to PS Data Breach
There will be no open gym tonight. The floor is very wet from multiple leaks in the roof. I cannot send anyone up there to fix the leak until the wind stops and it is safe.

RSV is spreading through the school. For adults and older children, it is usually not serious; for infants and younger children, it can be a very serious illness. If your child is symptomatic, please keep him/her home and take them to the clinic. Here is a link about the symptoms, causes, and treatment of RSV, from Cedar-Sinai medical center. https://www.cedars-sinai.org/health-library/diseases-and-conditions---pediatrics/r/respiratory-syncytial-virus-rsv-in-children.html

Your child will bring home an "opt out" form for the presentation on Erin and Brie's Law tomorrow and Wednesday. These sessions are required for schools by Alaska state law. The presentations will cover topics such as sexual safety and safe relationships. If you want your child to participate, there is nothing you need to do. If you DO NOT want your child to participate, please sign and return the "opt out" form tomorrow before noon. Thanks.

Good morning, Savoonga. School will start at 10:30 A.M. this morning to give our maintenance crew enough time to move the snow drifts so everyone can get to the building, and in the building, safely. I will message again around 9:00 A.M. and let you know which door to use. Have a great day.

There will be no open gym tonight. Pieces of the gym roof are flapping around and may come loose, which is causing a dangerous situation for anyone near the school. Please avoid the school area if possible until the storm is over and our maintenance team can secure the metal roofing. Thank you.
